I honestly don't know why anyone would want to stay here, but you can. Even the pictures of the rooms make me feel ill. Still, the website has a link to a fascinating account by medium and paranormal investigator Rebecca Shott Muller of her experiences in the house. They did not contact Lizzie, but did allegedly see Mr. and Mrs. Borden, the maid, a ghost cat, and other ghostly entities. There are pictures here, as well, which also make me feel very uneasy.
Sort of a cheat, since it's no longer a hotel, but a restaurant. Still, it's proud of its ghosts and worth a visit. The hotel was the site of two tragic fires, one in 1913 and one exactly 65 years later in 1978. It is considered to be the most haunted building in Michigan and is another candidate for most haunted in America. The recounting of some of the ghostly history at the website is really fascinating. There are a number of ghosts. Visitors often smell cigar smoke and flowery perfume, hear disembodied voices, and encounter ghostly figures.
